Job Description, Duties & Responsibilities
- Routine maintenance of transmission network equipment.
- Maintaining and Supporting of data networks and that of optic fiber networks (test for degradation and breaks)
- Providing technical support on transmission equipment and do preventive maintenance.
- Compiling regular network performance and other reports as required internally and by the customers.
- Monitor alarms and performance information
- Perform initial analysis to identify issues follow by restoration .
- Perform periodical network backups and health checks to determine network status.
- Create and update/manage trouble tickets for any detected problem.
- Ensure all docket information are capture in activity log
- Managing technical escalation to ensure faults is rectified within agreed SLAs.
- Perform Escalation and Notification to keep management and other business units informed during system outages.
- Assist the FO shift leader in producing activity report for KPI calculation.
- Monitor alarm event panels for Huawei DWDM Equipment.
Job Specification (Education, Experience, Skills & Others)
Education:
Bachelor in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Experience:
1- Handle escalated trouble calls and work closely, engineering, field technicians, and telecommunications carriers to resolve service issues.
2- Act as an externally facing point of contact to facilitate handling of problem reports and maintain relations with network peers and vendors.
3- Act as an internally facing point of contact to escalate technical issues and communicate network status.
4- Oversee and execute planned network maintenance work, minimizing impact to services.
5- Planning and commissioning of new DWDM links
6- Familiar the mainstreamed WDM feature;(like ASON/SNCP protection …etc)
7- Familiar with DWDM NMS for Huawei NCE (Alarm analysis, Alarms Filter creation, service creation, Service protection, ASON Activation …etc).
8- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Periodic Health check for all DWDM Network.
9- Identification and clearance of all DWDM risks to avoid any network incident.
Skills:
1- Minimum 3 years experience in the following technologies: SDH, DWDM, IP Transport protocols, NMS architecture, with a fundamental understanding of optical transmission network infrastructure.
2- ASON knowledge is required.
3- Background in mainteanance of Trasnsmission Equipment.
4- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
5- Good team spirit and adaptability.
6- Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
7- Ability to work on multiple tasks at the same time and prioritize them accordingly .
8- Self-starter, capable of taking initiative to identify & resolve problems, and improve work environment.
9- Strong Team work mentality with strong analytical and communication skills
10- Can accept overtime work and night job
